About

WHY DID I START THIS BLOG?

My name is Josh, and I created The Property Management Blog with the mission of helping multifamily professionals unlock their potential by sharing helpful resources and proven strategies that are simple to put into action. As someone who has been in the industry for a while, I understand how difficult it can be to stay up-to-date with the rapidly-evolving world of multifamily real estate, especially for small teams and organizations with limited resources and time.

Here are five primary reasons that motivated me to launch this website:

  1. To bridge the gap between available knowledge and what professionals in the field need to make informed decisions. I aim to provide multifamily professionals with the most up-to-date advice, information, and resources – all in one spot.
  2. To offer assistance and easy implementation tactics – from leveraging technology and data analytics to learning how to convert more leads into leases.
  3. To equip beginning property management professionals with the educational tools, they need to succeed. I’m dedicated to helping them maximize revenue, reduce expenses, and improve their financial performance.
  4. This space allows me to use it as a blank slate and experiment with ideas and new concepts. It’s also an excellent opportunity for me to improve my writing skills.
  5. To establish a tight-knit community of multifamily professionals passionate about achieving success and encouraging others to do the same. Connecting with like-minded peers through discourse has always been at the core of how I approach problem-solving.

ABOUT JOSH

My story began in Spring 2013 when I fell into property management. Throughout my decade-long career working for national and local property management companies and developers, I have steadily worked my way up from a leasing consultant to Senior Vice President of a fast-growing property management company located in Minneapolis, my current position today.

My expertise is in building and growing teams, improving leasing and operational processes, and enhancing the customer service experience for residents. I’ve had the opportunity to oversee a dozen lease-ups and the turnaround of numerous underperforming assets.

Regarding strategic leadership, I am a versatile and adaptable leader who can effectively manage teams of any size. I am passionate about making a difference, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering results by helping others realize their full potential.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Maggie, two daughters, Peyton and Emilia, and dog, Addie. I enjoy traveling, camping, biking, skiing, reading, and grilling.
